The very first thing is you need to tell us what engine your inquiring about before fit can be looked at by part number investigation.
5L, 3.5L, 2.7 L etc. engine size.

1) you can find out by looking up the part numbers, either at your dealership or online. 2) modern vehicles don't have generators, they have alternators.

Ford actually refers to that device as a generator in their workshop manual.

Now, what engine did the 2018 come from?
This has to be identified before any cross fitting can be determined.
Sorry a simple question becomes difficult.
Best you can do otherwise, is compare the two for everything outside mounting wise and size to be sure the Ampere rating is the same.
.
The use by Ford of the word Generator in my opinion is incorrect.
The next line says it converts AC to DC, verifies the error in the use of the word Generator even though both mean the same general function.
Ford writers do make mistakes, as noted by the Owner Manual update editions 1,2,3 etc..

Ford makes wording mistakes all the time. For example "Customer Service" Lol.

Look up the part number for a 2018 alternator and it matches one for a 2015.

below is shows the same alternator (generator) for the 2.7
2015 2.7l ecoboost
https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...lVehicle=false

2018 2.7l ecoboost
https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...lVehicle=false
2018 3.5l ecoboost
https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...lVehicle=false
2015 3.5l ecoboost
https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...lVehicle=false

Interesting that the price varies by $150 for the same part number. Just go to a parts store and check the cross reference for engine and years
