Default 2016 driver side leak found !

After tearing my Screw apart looking for the entry point of my water issue under the driver side rug I believe I found the issue if it helps anyone ! I did water tests on the windshield , 3rd brake light , cowl seam to no avail ! So attempting to find the issue I noticed a strong smell of cat **** coming from the back seat so I released the seat, and noticed water trickledown rear passenger side (driver Side ) as I was running a hose near sliding rear window and found a hair line crack in the window track !!! I’ve since sealed it with silicone and on the outer side I also used water seal gorilla tape ! So far so good ! Couple of rain storm and snow still no issues !

Crack outside of rear window track and inside allow the water to pool on floor !

I have the same hairline cracks going on in the plastic rear slider channel. The cracks go all the way through the U channel. Pretty much severed. I have the cracks in two places... One on passenger side and one on drivers side of the plastic channel. I also notice during rainfall water will pool on drivers side along the bottom of that plastic rear slider tray in between where the rear glass meets the pinch weld edge, cab metal. Did sealing up those cracks stop all your window leaks? Or was the rear window leaking along the edges somewhere too? Think silicone smeared in there from the inside of the track work?

Mine has a lot of cracks in it too. Did you replace the rear window for the same style, powered slider? Or did you go with a one piece solid glass?

Crack right next to the drain hole. The crack is also partially up the front side too.

I'll have check mine (2015). I had the rear vent leaking (one was even missing) causing the carpet to be soaked. I took the bed off and replaced the missing vent and sealed the others but I still have a small leak sometimes. I now have a garage so finding the remaining leak has slipped down my priority list.

One of the rear vents were missing??? You think it was ever there... or, may it have popped out sometime down the road? Which vent was it that was missing or leaking? I'm asking because maybe I need to seal/secure mine before they pop out. There are a total of 4 back there. Not sure why there are the two little ones, when they could've just used two of the larger ones. To me, that just adds more possible places to leak... more holes in the cab.

It was the smaller one on the driver's side. It had completely popped out. I found it when I took the bed off. Looking back, I may have caused the issue because I added a sub behind the back seat and it may have pushed the vent out. I added sealant to the lip of the new one before I installed it and it's been fine since. The passenger side one though, was definitely not my fault. It wasn't popped out, but it was leaking because part of the top lip was pushed into the cab instead of sealing against it.

I've contemplated on popping those rear vents (all 4 of them) out and sealing them with some silicone or something. Since I have my interior partially pulled out trying to air things out and troubleshoot my leak issue, I know those vents work, alot. They flap all the time and are subjected to a lot of vibration you just don't notice them due to the carpet pad and seats hiding all that noise. It makes sense to me to seal them, making sure they are secure, leak proof and don't pop out. How hard was it to remove your bed? Did you remove the bed just to do this vent fix? ....did you perhaps remove those cab carpet pads that sit right above the vents? Just curious. Mine have developed a green moss on the top edge of them.

Cover the cracks with JB Weld. Hell, coat the whole inside of that channel!

Yes, I removed the bed just to deal with the vents. After having one pop out and another leaking I didn't want to take a chance with more problems in the future.

It wasn't that hard at all to remove the bed. I don't remember all of the steps, but basically I started by removing the spare tire and bumper (the bumper may not have been necessary but it was easy to do and I felt it reduced the chance of scratching the bed during the removal and installation process). Then I unplugged the wiring and anything else I could see that needed to be done and then I removed the 6 bolts in the bed. The only trick that I had to ask someone about was the fuel filler hose. All you have to do it pop off the yellow capless filler assembly (carefully pry up the tabs on the side) and then the bed lifts off and the filler hose stays attached to the truck. The bed itself was crazy light. Just two of us lifted it off picking it up from the top of the wheel well opening. I read that the bed bolts are supposed to be a one time use so I bought new ones, but I think you could reuse them just fine.
