Has Ford put out an update for SSM 47589. The one from October stated the pin point tests were in the process of being updated. The fact Ford put out the SSM is a direct indication something is off.

Quick update: the dealer received direction from Ford to reset the steering module. The service manager didn't seem too confident this would fix the issue. Brought the truck in today and reset it....it did nothing as expected. The plus side is the service manager acknowledged their is a problem. He will be contacting Ford, again....so we will see what they have to say. He also mentioned he has had a few 2018's with this issue. I will be calling Ford on Monday and adding the information to my case number. This has been appointment #5 with no fix...truck just reached 8,000km.

My 2016 4x4 XLT with 18” wheels would drift and wander. My 2018 FX4 Lariat with 20” wheels drives great. I assumed the larger wheels and FX4 suspension made the difference.

I know how bad the steering was in my 2016 XLT, but after I swapped out the wheel for a 2017 Raptor steering wheel with paddle shifters (using a pnp harness from 2015boostedgreygoose) there is no longer a steering issue.

Is there a separate thread for the “sticky steering” issue or is this the catch all? I have an ‘18 XL that the wheel doesn’t always want to return to center. It’s intermittent and seams to happen more in Sport mode which leads me to belie it’s a software issue. Truck doesn’t pull or drift. It’s going on tomorrow morning for it’s first service and I plan on bringing it up.
