2015+ Shift Interlock?
Had to help my neighbor this morning with his 2011 Harley F150. Battery died and he was parked in garage with hood under some cabinets. I remembered my old Landrover I just had to pull up the console housing and press in the actuator to shift out of park. It got me thinking, does this new model have the same type of thing or have they made it all electric? I tried Google and searched here and couldn't find anything.
Does anybody read the owners manual anymore?

I always thought the shift interlock was mechanical not electronic. But does anyone know if the shifter is mechanically connected to the transmission or is it electronically controlled. I ask because I notice on my truck the back up lights, back up camera, back up sensors and reverse engage at the exact same time which is about .5-1 second after you select reverse. On older trucks or cars the back up lights would give a quick flash anytime the shifter passed the reverse position. On this truck it's like the computer engages reverse and all reversing systems at the same time.

Don't sweat it. There are a few people here that just read threads looking for a reason to admonish someone for not reading the manual...and god forbid you carry one single pound more than the truck is rated for.

And I keep a .pdf of it on my tablet for those times when I just _have_ to check something. :-)
Downloaded the owners manual and such right after I ordered the truck. I have read it several times, and truck is in transit to dealer.
