^^ This is the recall for a possible fire starting, when the seat belt locks fire in a collision.

Just had mine done today. My dealer said they just got the "Parts" in to complete the recall. They said Ford said it would take an hour to repair, took them 2.25 so keep that in mind. My recall popped up on my FordPass, that's how I knew.

My flaming seatbelts recall took less than an hour to do. I was notified with paper.

I had my seatbelt recall done. Seemed like not much of a fix, but whatever.

Today it's about 20 degrees in NY and I remote start my '18 Platinum with the phone app from inside my home. I notice a recall for freezing door latches. I don't think much of it as I usually ignore all the messages they so kindly fill my box with. I go out ten minutes later, put my bag in the back seat, get in, push start, shift into drive and I see on the dashboard "lever not in park." I'm like, yeah, ok, I may be stupid but I'm not that stupid. I know it's not in park, I'm about to drive off. So I look further, shift back into park and see "door ajar." Naturally a $65k truck can't distinguish which door is open like my 20k Honda. I pull on my door and it's not closed. So I pull it shut again and it bounces open. And over and over again, bouncing open. I get a screwdriver, manipulate the latch inside the door which is well greased and moving freely, and the damn thing still won't stay closed. I wake up my wife and she drives me to the station. I call the dealer and have an appointment for Wednesday to have the latches replaced, rods replaced, and a water shield put in, which is what the recall is.

Really, Ford? How long have you been making vehicles?

this is just sad. I'm in VA and we have our first snowfall and freezing temps, hoping this doesn't happen to me. sadly it seems like everyone on this forum is having it!

I am north of Boston and have a 18 XLT SCREW. Yesterday I got my first dose of being a Ford owner with the driver side door not closing. I started my truck before I went out to it, put my 4 year old daughter and went to back out when I saw that my driver side door was ajar. The bastard would not close, so I had to take my wifes car and leave her at home with a 4 week old and no car. Truck did it to me again this morning so I called dealer and told them the issue and they shrugged it off and said you just have to let it heat up, its just frozen. No s*** its frozen. This is the first vehicle this has ever happened to me in. So I am bringing it to dealer tonight to drop off so they can fix the SEATBELT issue and Tranny TSB but now I just have added this to the list. 45k truck and its acting like a 10k daewoo

The latest latch recall/tsb doesn't work. Several people have had it done and their latches still freeze. A video was posted of a guy in Canada that sprayed his latches 2 years ago and they have yet to freeze on him. I sprayed mine earlier this week with PB Blaster multi-purpose lubricant. 3 days under freezing and my doors work perfect. I was having issues already this early into the end of the year.

well that sucks but glad you posted that. One thing that’s strange. On my former ‘17 Raptor, the rear door wouldn’t open sometimes in freezing weather, it was frozen shut. This is exactly the opposite. It won’t shut. But when I placed a screwdriver in the latch, it was moving up and down freely, not stuck at all. And naturally it was 6 am and every time I moved the latch it honked the horn twice. I probably did that ten times.

I have an an appointment Wednesday to have the work done. We shall see.
