2015 lariat issue
Hi everyone. I have a 2015 lariat. The other day I had an issue. I went to pick up my daughter at school. Listened to the radio for 45 minutes on aux. when she got out I went to start the truck and it pretty much just clicked like a bad battery. I called AAA. They jumped the truck and it started no issue. They also tested the battery and said it was good. Is this a potential issue coming or maybe a one off issue. Started with no issue today. Thanks for any response
A few weeks back my wife had a similar issue with her SUV. listening to the radio with the engine off for about 40 minutes or so, then would not start. Jumped it, worked fine after that. I took it to auto part store and had the battery tested, showed good. A week later she tells me it's having trouble starting, like a weak battery would cause. Go back to same place and had them test it again, this time shows bad.
I also noticed some fluid sitting on top of the battery, like it had leaked out. So check for that as well and maybe just keep an eye on it for a while. Might be just good enough to pass the test right now, but be on the way out, like my wife's battery was.

If you don't have *** (Auto Start-Stop) then you probably have a FLA (Flooded Lead Acid) battery, not a AGM (Advanced Glass Matt). Although the Motorcraft FLA batteries claim to be maintenance free, they are like all FLA batteries and loose some of the water from the cells over time. Pry the lid off and check the electrolyte levels. If they need water, use distilled or de-ionized, not tap.
If its an AGM battery, they are truly sealed and if your problem continues, you'll like need to replace it.
Here are pictures of the lid taken off my Motorcraft. And yes, it was low on water and I had to add some.
