Make sure you have ford pay for the environmental crew to clean your property of that mess. Unless you want to disclose it when you sell.

Update on my truck. Its still in the shop. Tech said its a part of the fuel line but they have never seen anything like this before. They have never replaced this part before and its very hard to find one. First they said it could be a critter that chewed through. Then they said road debris. They started to back away from those comments and then said they didnt know what could have caused it and have sent the part to ford to look at it. Ford was concerned. I really have no option I guess but to wait this out.

Wildcatford,
Please keep us updated with what they find. A picture would be great so I can see if I have the beginnings of the same issue.

I have parked my vehicle facing down on my driveway and do not see leakage at this point. Tomorrow I will either take it to the dealer or try parking it back the way that originally presented the issue and see if it happens again. I would feel more comfortable if I can find the leak so I can show the dealer. Otherwise, I risk them not seeing any issue and wasting my time causing me extreme frustration. Of course the pictures prove there is leakage, and from where it is at, it cannot be condensation. I say this in case they don't believe I know what gas smells like, and of course condensation evaporates and doesn't leave a stain like gas does. In fairness, I do understand they need to see a problem to fix it.

I'd ask for an extended warranty, that way you'll have piece of mind.

My truck just spent 25 days in the shop for bad cam phasers. No call from any manager, and the only compensation I got was a Ford Fusion loaner, that I got over a week after my truck went in. As many trucks as Ford makes, they didn't have a single one that they loan out. I hope you have a better experience.

Well Dealer called this morning and said it was fixed and I owe them $452 that warranty will not cover it. I about blew up but kept my cool. Decided to give it a few hours and then head down to dealer. Talked to the service manager who straight up told me they couldnt 100% for sure say what happened to the plastic fuel line that goes on top of the tank. He said but based on past Ford experience he could file it as warranty but Ford wouldnt pay it. I said if thats the case why not give it a try? His tech had told me 3-4 days earlier that it would be warranty which changed his attitude a little. I took the part with me and told him I would keep it and document his statement and do what I had to do. Went to talk to salesperson and before I could get to her he had ran back and said general manager will take care of it and you owe nothing but we must keep the part. The part did not look like it had been chewed on. If it had I would have paid the money and left to be honest. Its very hard plastic maybe softer when heat gets up but still very hard. A Ford Regional Service Manager suppose to talk to me tomorrow. I guess its resolved but it left a sour taste in my mouth. Salesperson wouldnt even speak to me. Things like this blow my mind. Im not sure they will get my first oil change.

You didn't by any chance take a picture of the damaged part?
