My last 3 pickups have been GMC’s. Got fed up with the drivetrain. They do a joint venture With Ford on the 10 speed trannys which so far is excellent. Why can’t FORD look at their locks . Never had a lock issue in 20 years.
While I’m here I own Corvettes and on the Forum there are engineers from the factory that chime in on issues. I’m new here so are there any on the 150 forum ?

Of course folks can post into additional "Normal Threads" on this topic to their heart's content.... but at the peril of confusing new visitors that might not have discovered the "sticky" thread.....IMHO

DO NOT GO FOR 18N03 "FIX".
I had an issue with the driver's door on my 2017 SuperCrew Lariat since the first cold blow of 2017 winter. The dealer has replaced the door lock assembly and, as far as I understand, added a "rain shield" or some sort. The issue has not reoccurred until winter 2018. This winter it happened once and then kept reoccurring in the following days. At the same time I have received the letter about that 18N03 "fix". I complained to the dealer again and they decided to apply that "fix". The truck was at the dealership for 2 days, they did all 4 doors. That was about 4 weeks ago.
The weather was relatively mild since then. Last night we had the first cold blow since then - it went from something like -2C (at the time I drove the tuck for the last time) to -18C this morning. 3 (THREE!) doors got frozen completely, including the long-suffering driver's door. Only the front passenger door worked. I was able to unlock the driver's door from the inside and drive my daughter to the school...
So, this "fix" is totally useless (if not destructive!) and this F-150 is officially the only car I ever owned having that sort of problem. I thought that it has been completely resolved by the auto-industry at least 20 years ago, but clearly that's not the case with Ford.
At this point I do not know what to do. The dealer, obviously, won't be able to offer any solution. Ford is almost unreachable, although I will try. I like the truck, in general, so I am not feeling good about going the "lemon" way (its weak Canadian equivalent, in fact). But having the vehicle inaccessible because of this silly issue is not acceptable too.

Take back to dealer leave in Ford paid for Rental. Get a hold of Ford Corporate Customer Service....ask for the equivalent to the US Buyback because of the problem. If you cannot get Ford to do anything you have to lawyer up. Look for someone who has already won a few of these. Ford seems to want to settle these out of court...long and painful but you should do okay as long as you go through the process. Make sure you have tried multiple times have the paper trail and have done all they have asked.

Is anyone other than me concerned with using heavy amounts of WD 40 or other petroleum based lubricants possibly causing long term issues since they attract dirt and grime? I'm trying Tri Flow, a teflon based lubricant that I use for my mt. bike chain and does not attract dirt. Hoping this works as well WD or PB Blaster.

Going to give the dealer and Ford one last chance before looking at the options. I like the truck, not looking for a way to get rid of it but, at the same time, it is hard to like the inaccessible truck
BTW, I have got the Ford document describing 18N03 procedure...Shocking. 61 page, 93 images. Change this, check that, put this seal here, cut 6mm off the tip of that rubber gasket...Well...not to offend any technicians out there, but I know that some of them do cut corners and probably do not follow the instructions by the letter. If looks OK to me, skip a couple of pages, go to lunch Sometimes being over-confident can be bad.
Also, a quick search on the Internet (and YouTube specifically) shows that many people who had this issue and who had 18N03 "fix" done are complaining about the problem not being fixed. Seems to be aligned with the careful message I had from the service that I am not alone in this situation
