When I run across a newer model f150 owner I have been asking them about the freezing issue. More often than not (I'd say 90%) they've had no issues at all which leads more to the theory that Ford changed internals or changed process
etc that has resulted in a certain production run having this issue. Seems logical.
Not for Ford apparently.

I have a 2015 XLT build date 8/15, purchased 9/15. Live in Michigan. Never had issue with doors. Extended cab. Wash truck in winter. Truck is in garage at night, but does sit out when away for 2-4 days ice fishing further north. So, not all trucks of every model year have issue. Personally, other than folks who have mentioned issue on this forum I have not met another person with door problems. I do feel bad for you guys. Has to be difficult for engineers to find solution when only X % has problem out of total production. And if you are one with issue i can understand your anger with Ford.

My dealer has had many trucks in with this issue, and not a single comeback after the latest 180N3(?) fix. When my driver's door wouldn't lock, the service manager knew right away what it was, and they took care of it while I waited.
This morning it was in the mid-20s, and the truck had sat outside getting rained on for 2 days and windy and cold yesterday, and no issues with any of my doors, so my fingers are crossed hoping my truck is fixed now

I thought this was interesting.
The problem with the Continentals is different, although no less dangerous. Ford says door latches on some 27,0000 vehicles might not engage, meaning they could open while driving. A buildup of silicon contamination is being blamed for the issue. So far, Ford says it has not heard of any accidents or injuries from this defect. Dealers will remove and replace the door latches.
