I went this past weekend to look at some 2017s I could not find 1 truck that had a good clean dash that was not warping/seperating around the upper vents.
Not cool ford....this has been going on for a while 2015,2016,2017

This is a known issue on these 2015 + model F150's. The reason your dash is doing that, is because there's no reinforcement under the dash pad. The pad itself is very flimsy, & without a hard support under it to secure to, it will warp under the sun. I use one of the sun shade things during the summer to block the sun off my dash for this very reason. They have to replace the dash because there's nothing there underneath to fasten it to if they tried to fix it......dumb design.

Wow, so there won't be a fix until the next generation. I had it replaced twice and it did it again. When I traded it in at 50k miles, it had its share of rattles as well as more "warpage."

I have some warp on mine as well. Came this way. Definitely cheesy looking.

2016 Ford dash
I took my truck in yesterday to have my local ford dealer (Baierl Ford) in Zelienople, PA. They took pictures of dash and sent them to Ford. Before I walked into the service dept. I checked a few trucks out before I walked in and they all had this problem, I mentioned this to the service advisor and he didn't really seem to concerned. I wish they would find a fix for this issue. Has anyone else had their this fixed and if so has it happened again, has it been fixed and I'm thinking I am going to start using a sunshade and hopefully that will help along with keeping the windows cracked in the heat.

No hope!
Got my '16 F150 XLT Sport/FX4 year ago. Noticed the warping shortly afterwards (dash got warped while the truck was still at the dealer's lot).
Got one of the local dealers in Edmonton, Alberta to replace it in December '16. Actually, they replaced it without even asking for my permission. It pissed me off, but it was too late for me to stop them - they called me when they already removed the dash (idiots!).
The new dash started warping in May '17. The rattle came in August '17. The "fix" lasted for about 6 months. In essence, they are replacing a defective part with a defective part, and their mechanics are pretty lousy.
I used sunshade and tried parking in shaded areas as much as I could - it did not make a difference. The dash plastic in XLT is so thin, it will probably warp if you don't air out the cab after you fart. It's a disgrace! You will not be able to prevent the dash from warping, unless you put the truck in a vacuum-filled museum.
I went to the same dealer the 2nd time, and they replaced the dash for the 2nd time. This time, they warped the dash while installing it! In addition, they managed to scratch it too. See the pics for yourselves! This dash has been installed two days ago!
I complained immediately, and I am yet to hear from the manager. The guy is willing to help, but it looks like Ford is doing their best to limit what a manager can offer to the customer.
This manager tells me that Ford Canada is not aware of the dash problem (???). Apparently, there has to be 50+ complains Canada-wide in order for Ford to do something about it. I told him this is total BS. I asked him to look all the XLT's in his parking lot, and if he can find one with good dash - I'll buy it. He also indicated that Ford does not really care about complaints in forums (that I believe). Ford is lying for sure - there must have been 50+ complaints in Canada since 2015. I suppose they don't count it as a complaint unless you take them to court. What a bunch of hypocrites. Disgusting! Considering that every 2nd truck around here is an F150, I am pretty sure enough people complained and Ford ignored the customers as usual.
Well, I am waiting now to hear from the dealer about the crappy work they did (it's been a couple of days, no response to my complaint yet). I will not drop this for as long as I own the truck. I mentioned to them I will push this as far as arbitration for buyback (CAMVAP). I did not spend $50k for the privilege of watching my dash warp!
I will share my experiences periodically, and will share as much info as I can. All of us are obviously victims of Ford's greed and disrespect for the customer, and we should not let this go.
I can easily say that this is not my first Ford, but is going to be my last.
BTW, I would advise everyone to avoid dash replacement. This will not fix the problem permanently, and it will open the possibility for your dash to rattle like baby's toy. If you proceed with this option, be prepared to replace it every 6 months until your warranty expires.

Hi,
My 2 cents
As a former Dealership Master Tech (not Ford) there is no excuse to have the dash looking like that after a repair/replace.
Now on the other side.... changing out a dash is all about time ..the tech get so much time to do this what in most cases not enough (hours short for the job and time is the techs $$$..... like if a job takes 10hr and he/she is only getting 6hr payed) so to make up time short cuts are applied and they over time will rattle.
My dash on my 2017 XLT is warping/seperating too.... less than a month old truck but will not see a shop for that till maybe 34 month from now maybe.
If the dash is replaced the odds of warping/separating again are very very high
plus some rattles!
I looked at 18 F150 17/18 models on the lot and 14 have the problem.
