I was told painting the inside of the clear stampede can change the paint color slightly even though it is paint matched to the truck paint. I decided to keep mine clear and I'm glad I did.

Went the same way and kept it clear. Very happy with it so far.

I think the issue with painting the inside to match the white tri-coat is that the base white would be going on first and that is what would be seen thru the plastic. I know from having the WTC on my previous truck matching the pearl look of the OEM paint was the hard part. I think the others painted with the other colosr look pretty close to matching. Makes me wonder how the Bronze Fire would look sprayed on the clear deflector.

On the stick on bug shields, will they mess up the paint if you pull if off 5 years down the road? Is it 3m tape on the sticky part?

They won't damage the paint. They're held on with name brand 3m tape and can be removed anytime.

I've been looking at getting a bug shield because the issue I'm running into is water droplets going forward down the hood when I hit the brakes, then blowing back up onto the windshield.

Are there any of you that were having a similar issue before getting a bug shield that found that installing the shield resolved it?
