BRN: So what would you do with your existing LED lights then if you went to HID? Seems the best bet is to swap out the morimotos... For $125 it's your best option and most light output

true, but I like the housing and cutoff's of the morimotos, just not the output color, and there's no changing that on those that I know of?

Have a long road trip coming up for Thanksgiving, mostly night driving. I'm not technically savvy enough to install LED's in the Anzo's. Are there any better recommended H7 bulbs that are just plug & play that produce better light output than what the Anzo's currently have?

it's just a drill bit and plug and play....well worth it, rather than waste money on inferior bulbs. just my opinion. See if anyone is local, that could lend a hand.

Anyone have pictures of how they secured their ballasts outside? I want to see how people are doing it so I can get an idea when I get mine in the next few weeks (trying to get everything lined up for a quicker/ more prepared install). I may use some of that adhesive velcro but wanted to see how others were doing it.

I did see how gintyfab did his low beam, but was curious about both low and high beams. Prefer not to drill more holes than really needed.

The slot between low and high housings tends to fit most ballasts. You can secure yours with 3M VHB tape. If your particular ballast doesn't have enough cord length to reach that area, you can get creative with zip ties.

Sylvania makes a good halogen if you're looking to stay with that. Sylvania- Silverstars, silver stars ZXE, or Xtravision. Pic is the ZXE's compared to regular halogen.

I would be concerned about using any kind of tape, as the ballast gets very hot. Not sure how long it would hold up

Is is still true that Silverstars burn out much faster than a stock halogen? That was my experience when I tried using them approx. 10 years ago. Not sure if anything has changed since.

I used the H7 ZXE bulbs in my Anzo headlights, whiter light than std. halogen. More than adequate light output, certainly better than the factory headlights.
