I tell people its better to buy the last year of a model, than the first year. Sometimes I get flak for saying it.

I have to agree with you on this. My 14 was a damned good truck, not one complaint, well except for the short range for the remote start. in 20 months I put 63K miles on it, drove it from Il to Utah pulling a travel trailer, loved that truck, got great gas mileage, was comfortable, and drove very well, and FAST. Now that truck is a wreck from a crash and I have a 16 and less than 2 hours after buying it, the doors froze. 4 issues within the first week, and its not a first year model! Really thinking I would have been better off with another 14 regardless of the miles on it.

The 2018 isn't a new model, just a grill update and squeezing a bit more power out of the same motor. Except for the new diesel.

I know that, I did not imply it was a new model. The new model will be 2020.

Which is why I would wait until 19. At least by then the 10 speed issues would be worked out, the new EB will have its issues worked out, and the factory workers will be able to assemble them correctly with their eyes still bleary from the previous nights drinking binge.

I traded my 13 in for a 15 with 50k miles and now my 15 will have 50k miles on it next week so I will probably be looking hard at the 18s. I want a crew 6.5ft bed with the 5.0/10spd and 3.73s this time around. My 13 was a 5.0 and my 15 is a 2.7, which is awesome, but I think I will go back to a 5.0 because I want to keep my next truck until it's paid off because I will have to buy my daughter a vehicle by then.

Anyone else in the same boat, looking to trade in and up when the 2018s come out?
I had planned on doing just that but getting the diesel engine. All that changed when I had the wreck so now I'm getting a 2017.

I will more than likely trade my 2014 black Platinum 5.0 V8 4x4 in for the new 2018 black Platinum upgraded 5.0 V8 4x4.
But not right away,I'll wait for the hype to die down a bit/wait for when it's more of a buyers market (towards end of 2018).
