Both options have theyre Good and Bad!

I prefer the all Painted look. While the chrome bumpers are more resistant, to rock chips. Where the Painted is not, the grill and mirrors will chip/crack regaurdless.

What matters most, is what you like, and prefer to drive.

This was my 2012 xlt, with chrome package. I added oem hids, a FX4 ptm grill, and chrome mirror caps.

I did this on mine.

Simply pulled them off, didn't take anything else off, no unscrewing. Simply pry off and push on the new ones.

I will say however i accidentally broke a tab on my old ones when I was pulling them off, but who cares i threw them in the trash anyways, they cost like 20 bucks to replace the original XLT caps.

This is my 2010 XLT that I did several cosmetic mods to. https://www.flickr.com/photos/142668...57670516532632

Need advice, on my way to work my mirror hit a tree branch sticking out from the center median. The branch ended up cracking my mirror's chrome cap.

where is the best place to buy a new cap?

and do I tempt fate and pull the glass off or will prying the old cap off and snapping on the new one work? I don't want to break tabs on the new cap I purchase.

I changed mine to chrome...putco brand...92$ canadian shipped to my door easy job. I didn't remove the glass just pulled the black ones straight out and popped the chrome ones in

I think it's cj pony parts that has a vid showing the swap with out the glass removal
