Default 20” Wheels

I wasn’t nuts about going to 20” wheels on my new ‘18 Lariat FX4, but it handles and drives much better than my ‘18 XLT. I’m attributing much of that to the 20s having an inch less sidewall than the 18s. Are the FX4 springs any stiffer than the standard 4x4 springs?

I had my ‘09 FX4 with 20’s for 8 years and recently upgraded to my ‘15 Lariat with 18’s. I feel the 18’s are a lot better on my bad roads here - more sidewall to give I guess.

Agree. Had 18" on my 2013 XLT and have 20" on my 2018 STX. The 18" rode much better on less than ideal roads. It was noticeable, not surprising, but nonetheless noticeable.

My 20s are new, so they ride just fine. I feel like the handling is better, but if the ride gets too rough down the road, I’ll go to 18” Michelins. I have Hankook ATMs, which I know nothing about. I have read good and bad reviews.
