Default 2 Major issues today

Today did not start well with my F150....2016 Platinum 20K in miles on it so far. Started the vehicle and the Sync console was dead could not get it to come on. Drove to my destination then started the vehicle and it came on and has worked so far....the second issue came after washing it today. I found that I have a lead coming in on the passenger side at the handle on the A pillar. it is specifically leaking in at the pop off piece where the screw/bolt are. Has anyone else had these issues? Kinda scares me with the center console being totally blank...will it totally crap out???

I doubt you got enough water in just washing the vehicle to hurt anything. However you have to wonder how long it's been leaking? Wouldn't think a little water leaking in on the passenger door is reaching where the Sync console is located.

First thing I would do is check EVERYWHERE in the vehicle to make sure that's the only place where water is getting in. There are some very good threads on where and how to check for water intrusion....

thanks, yes the console issue was early this morning no rain etc...and the leak was this afternoon, but it certainly came in like it was running from someplace.

Do you have a sunroof? There is a drain tube that runs there and is common to leak there if the tube becomes disconnected.

Chances are you have a drain tube for the panoroof that’s disconnected. My friend had the same issue on his truck. At the very least it would be a good starting point.

My drain tubes never came off but my sunroof leaked especially at a car wash. Took it to ford, with a video I took of the leaking and they installed the upgraded movable sunroof that has the upgraded seal assy. Still leaks at the car wash but not near as bad.

Check and see if your Sync got an upgrade over WiFi and finished installing while you where driving. If not remember the more electronic gizmos the more gremlins.

OK so I took it in for the rain channel to be fixed and that is exactly what it was the tube came off....so now that they took the moldings apart etc...I am thinking that I have gaps that I have never seen before, especially at the door at the top where it meets the b pillar. I do not recall such a large gap......has anyone else seen this issue? thinking that I may have to take it back in for them to look at.

We have another Ford where the Synch was blank on startup as well... one time... Hadn't had the issue again.

Bunch of computers in these cars, sometimes they don't "boot up" correctly and you end up with a gremlin... turn car off for a bit, start again and its fine. Not too much to worry about.... yet.... unless it starts to repeat itself.
