2.7L MPGs with 3.73 gears

That's strange because I feel just the opposite, however my 5.0's had 3.55 and 3.31 gears. I haven't taken the 2.7 up any mountains, but on the hilly terrain in GA it does really well. My 5.0 always downshift ed at the slightest rise in the road. I suspect it needs the 3.73's to keep the revs up a bit. Loved the engines otherwise.

Right on. I'm in Orange County, Anaheim area. And I get about 18 mpg with 4x4 3.73. I also like to step on it sometime. Slow drivers kill me.
