Default 2.7 rough idle problems

I have a 2016 F150 Dallas Cowboys addirion with just over 19,000 miles and i have started noticing I have a rough idle when I am stopped and in drive or even in park. I had taken it in 2 seperate times to my local Ford dealer in Avon Park Florida and they have told me both times that it waa normal for the 2.7 echo boost to run this way. So I told them that after spening $50,000 dollars on a new truck this waa not acceptable. Fortunately I took it to another Ford dealer and found out that there is a major engine problem with a certain amount of motors that were made during the time that my truck was built. They are now telling me they will have to rebuild the short block and possible the long block becauae of a machining issue with the heads. Im hoping thia will help someone that may be having this issue. Please get a secind opinion if your Ford dealer tells you that they are not aware of this problem. If I had not gone to another dealer I would have possibly been on the road somewhere with my family when my engine had blown. Im sure Ford is going to have major issues if they dont get it together and inform their dealerships of this problem.

Many of us are aware, but thanks for the heads up anyways.

Thats not good, hopefully they get it fixed up good. I cannot say I am surprised coming on here seeing issues with vehicles...they sell so many of these trucks and so many individuals involved in making this all come together. Its unfortunate it happens, but given the complexity and amount of people involved from headlights molding, to machining, to paint, to electronics and wiring and tightening everything down, just one mistake makes the whole situation seem bad.

Sometimes I think the approach to the issues is taken the wrong way, other times I think dealers and sales and how some do business is just rotten scams practically. I just got mine back this past week, had it in for transmission auxillary pump going bad at 19,000 miles...really considering an extended warranty since mine expires in like 3 months. I suppose in getting a warranty I know most everything expensive will mostly be covered and won't have to worry about it in the future.

What a douche-bag dealer. They must think customers are as ignorant as they are. The 2.7 in an F150 is one of the smoothest, most quiet engines at idle you will find. I have to look at my tach to make sure it's still running, can't feel or hear a thing!

Glad the "good" dealer is taking care of you.
