What was up with the shifting? I noticed when mine is cold, shifting from 3 to 4 is jumpy, but not every time. So far I love this thing

Give it time to learn and break in.

Check out this thread for the story on the shifting. Just got mine done yesterday so can't say if it helped yet. Dealer gave me grief about this and wanted to charge for it but didn't when all said and done.

I’ve had my 2.7 for a little over a year. I’ve had no problems and I love it. I’ve always been a truck needs a V8 guy but after reading about the EcoBoost and trying it I’m hooked.

Yeah it’s snappy, trying to keep it outta sport mode until it’s broke in.

Had a 2015 with the 2.7, and traded a few months ago for a 2018 with the 2.7, and a few more options that I wanted. I drove V8's for many years, and tried an F150 with the little V6 in it at the suggestion of the salesman, not expecting to like it. Well, it surprised the heck out of me, plenty of power for my needs, and great fuel economy as well.

I am very happy with the 2.7, and have never had a single problem with either of them. The only thing I sometimes miss is the sound of a V8 with dual exhaust, like I had put on every truck that I had previously owned. But when that happens, I just put it in sport mode and step on it. And after more than 3 years between the two of them, it still puts a smile on my face.

I’ve got 25,000 miles on my ‘17 2.7. Only issue with the engine was a cylinder misfire at the 5,000 mile mark. Bad coil was replaced under warranty, new plug, and off I went in under an hour.
