I did. Sorry brother, but I think you'd be interested in the numbers compared to the 3.5EB. I had my beliefs confirmed within 500 miles. However, if I ever did go back to an EcoBoost, I'd get the 2.7L. It was a nice experience driving it.

If I had to personify; the V8 is just the regular strong dude. Naturally strong without ever really working hard to be that way. The 3.5EB is the crossfit guy that wants to be buff, and therefore screams a lot at the gym and attempts heavy weight to show that he is strong. The 2.7EB is a guy just content with his power and uses it when he needs to, otherwise he's chill.

The way I drive and where I drive, I'm getting better with the 5.0 than I did with the 3.5EB. Granted, the EB only had 1400 miles on it so not entirely broken in or at optimal mileage, but neither is the 5.0L. This aspect should be a wash.

The 3.5 had a 3.31 rear also. The 5.0L has a 3.55. The only area the EB was beating the 5.0 in MPGs was pure highway. On a 60 mile trip, all of them being highway except maybe 2, the EB got me 21.2MPG. Similar trip the 5.0L got me 20.9. But combined driving with a heavier lean towards highway, I'm getting better from the V8. Same fuel, warmer-ish temps.

On my commute to work, which is my true judge of MPG since this is the only place I drive other than to take my daughter to school, I get 19.0-19.4 in the V8. I was struggling to hit 19 and often ended at 18.5 in the EB.

Just food for thought. Even if the V8 got 1 MPG less than the 3.5EB, I'd still be happy with it considering what it is.

took a trip to and from the inlays last night. i was actually getting about 24.5 until i had to drive with some cross winds. the wind was really bad yesterday and i think the air temp was about 8 and -2 with the wind chill. on the way back i was driving directly into 15 to 20 mph winds and was getting 17.5 to 18. this is the same route i have described before at the beginning of this thread. i filled up yesterday and added to fully. i will probably fill up again because i have to go pick up the wife. so this tank will probably be a little less due to traveling in some pretty strong winds. and most traveling was done at 65 and 60 for maybe a half hour of the trip down. i did 70 all the way back because it was late. we have a sick dog at home and i left a little later than i anticipated

That's pretty impressive MPG numbers out of the naturally aspirated V8 motors. If I'm within 2 mpg I'd rather have a naturally aspirated motor than a blown engine. My .02.
