Default 2.7 Intermittent Stall

Anyone else having problems with a 2.7 stalling?

Apart from the stop\start function, the engine stalls when the truck stops, at an intersection or even going from reverse to drive. Engine restarts but stalls again before you can get it in gear. Play with the throttle a bit to keep the rpm's up and slam it gear seems to work.

There are no codes thrown (truck was stalling when they were checking it). Dealer thought throttle body and replaced it but that didn't help.

Truck is a 2018 bought in June, no problems til February. My fuel usage also jumped up over the winter. This truck averaged between 7-10 mpg city all winter.

I got pissed off and reset the ecu by disconnecting the battery and everything seemed fine the last few weeks but today it stalled again. Any ideas?

I would put your warranty to use, and find a competent dealer.

There were bad throttle bodies since 15'. Maybe the new one is bad. Or one of the fuel pumps are bad. Did they check fuel pressure?

Fuel pressure readings (from ECU) plus short and long fuel trims would help. Any white smoke or gas smell from exhaust? Curious if an injector is stuck open. The banks would show very different trims if so.

I would think a stuck injector would cause misfire which would throw a code. Almost anything that would cause that would throw a code: vacuum problems, high/low fuel pressure, throttle position. I think an issue has to happen a number of times before it's stored as an active code, if you have forscan maybe there's a pending code to be found or something in history.

Sulfur smell usually stinks of a bad Cat Converter.Sounds like it may be clogged from to much fuel being dumped out the exhaust. This would also cause it to stall

Sadly most techs these days dont know how to diagnose problems, they just throw the parts at it the manual tells them to. I have found that finding highly skilled and competent mechanics are difficult to find at dealerships.
