Default 2.7. Check engine light

Check engine light came on a couple days ago on my 15 Lariat SC. It runs just fine, auto shut off still functions as normal and there is no difference in the way the truck is performing. It has just over 26,000 miles. I called my service department and they said it could be some bad gas or some debri or dirt could be in the fuel filller passage-way. They said the light may go off on its own. Since there is a 4 to 5 day wait to get in to service I scheduled an appointment for July 17 th! Has anyone else had this light on with no noticeable performance?

Could be anything really...no way to know without pulling the code. You could go to Autozone and have them read the code and then you'd at least know what it is.

There are several SSMs and TSBs on 2015 F150s w/2.7L engine and CELs.

If you can tell me the DTC, I will be glad to look for you.

Diagnostic Trouble Code. Like a P0300, U1000, P0455... etc.

Drove truck to Fleet Farm this morning check engine light was on, came out about 45 minutes later light is off! Going to keep my service appointment anyway so I can see what it was! Must have been some bad gas!

If it's not flashing you're generally good to go!

Could have been a failed evap test, I've heard of the capless fuel filler neck getting a bit of dirt in them and leaking a little. Then the next time the truck runs an evap test if the seal has been restored it will clear the CEL.

Does it store the code even of the light goes out so a guy can at least find out what caused it?
