15 and 16-18 differences
Looking at a newer body style f150. I have a 2013 just looking for a few more comfort items. Search has been more 16-18 model years. I found a nice XLT for a great price. I noticed the radio software looked a little different. Other than some exterior changes does the 15s have sync 2 or something and newer ones sync 3. Is android auto available on older models? Would like to have newer features but not a deal breaker. Any other big differences? Thanks in advance.

2016+ with the 8" screen will have Sync3. 2017 and 2018 will have Carplay and Android Auto, but you can update a 2016 to have it as well. If you buy one used, the previous owner might have already updated it.
2017 got the gen2 3.5 Ecoboost with 10 speed trans
The 2018 was a refresh, so that's a pretty big difference. New grille, tailgate, headlights and taillights. 10 speed was added to the 5.0 and 2.7 EB. The 5.0 was also updated with port and direct injection and gained a few horses over the 15-17 version.

I appreciate that info. The last few I looked at were 17s and an 18. I drug my feet on a 18 due to the newer 5.0 engine and some issues I read about. Found a cheap 15 but its starting to look like a bait and switch type deal. Would rather spend a grand or 2 more and get the latest and greatest than be stuck with the 4" radio or older software.
