100,000 mile thoughts
My 2015 F150 Platinum was delivered on December 21,2014. I clocked 100,000 miles in December 14, 2019. The truck has been in or through 20 states, in temperatures from -10 to 100+, over mountains, in snow, ice, sand, and mud. I drive hard and use Sport mode most of the time. Point: I haven't pampered this thing. And so what has it given me? Five years of reliable service. I change the oil and service it when the computer says to. I have had all TSB and recall work done, not out of necessity but just because. I am only on second set of tires. Only problem is the catalytic converter work I had done a month ago. Otherwise, no repairs, leaks or issues. Most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. I'm only one person but I love this F159.

This is my first truck and first Ford, and I always expected my Hondas to go 125,000 plus miles before replacing wear items.
I don't think I've spent over $1000 total in unexpected repairs in over 25 years...any repair under 125,000 miles is unexpected to me.
Glad to hear you didn't have cam phaser issues, even without changing oil every 5K miles, and with Mobil1 (or similar) synthetic oil, like many of us. That means if you're lucky to get a healthy engine, you don't have to pamper it that much, and it'd still turn reliable. The issue are marginal ones, so I rather err on the side of caution and maintain it better. But at the same time, if it has defective parts, they'll crap out sooner or later
. Hey, since you seem to be quite lucky, you should buy some lottery tickets. Ha ha. Seriously, thank you for sharing your story. Good to hear.

I too have a 2015 with the 3.5, and am 15000 behind you. But it has been 85000 worry free miles. I have replaced the plugs once, one coil pack [ thinking the plug was giving me a misfire though] and oil changes. We make almost 1400 trucks a day 6 days a week at DTP. These forums tend to attract the guys with problems so they make up the bulk of posts. The rest are the guys that are really into their trucks. The bulk of the trucks we make are serving their owners well. Everything we buy has its problems, few of us still remember never leaving home on a vacation without a toolbox and a small selection of parts onboard. Congratulations on your truck, remember the Toyota commercial where the guy stopped and jumped for joy when he hit 100000. Not that long ago.....
