Default 10 speed torque convertor lockup

It's almost like when upshifting, at least in lower gears, the TC unlocks on shift, then locks back in once a little mph is gained in that gear. Now, when semi hard acceleration, about half throttle, I don't see it do that on the tach, or seat of the pants feel.
I don't think there's anything to worry about, just curious what some of you think. This is just in normal drive mode. Kinda reminds me of my olde 4R100 in the older Superdudes. That one would wait until 4th gear, then the TC would lock.

I am really interested in the torque convertor lockup logic. I read that it locked up in first gear and stayed locked up after that. When I posted that on this site, someone said it modulated. I believe that knowing the logic may be some of the answer to all the transmission "issues".

Yes, could be. Good point there, education for the common man.
I took mine out today for a short ride, and noticed in the top three gears, all overdrives, I didn't seem to see or feel anything, sorta makes sense to me. But the locking in first, and staying locked, I don't know.

Hmm, Car and Driver eh. I think I'm seeing and feeling it modulate.
Oh crap, I just remembered I've got the Omega tune loaded. Likely should contact Oz tuning and ask for stock and what he may have modded for the trans. He's easy enough to talk to.

I think there is some torque converter slip that is happening. It locks completely after a certain gear then slips. I believe it does make for a much harsher experience. I've noticed that under moderate acceleration it shifts much smoother. It's annoying.

I found this on at Gears Magazine. I think SSA-SSF are the solenoids.

I am not sure what on/off means. Does it cycle with each shift or can it be in either state when the trans is in that gear?

LOL, fun with transmissions, sort of a play on, fun with flags?
Good find, but I'm with you, not sure what it really means.

Been a long time since i messed with a transmission but isn't it necessary for the tc to lock up in any overdrive gear?

I'm pretty sure it does, at least that's what I think I'm seeing on this 10 speed.
