Default 10 speed question

Hey guys. Got a new to me 2018 f150 3.5 supercab max tow 4x4. Picked it up with 3600 miles and now up to 4800 miles. Love everything about the truck so far but the transmission. From everything ive seen everything im experiencing is "normal" so im curious what others are experiencing.

Doesnt seem to matter if the trannys hot or cold, i get a delayed 3 to 5 shift. If i really step on it, itll run through all the gears just fine with no delays. Accelerate normal and its delayed.

Second problem is the acceleration is not smooth at all. Most noticeable in gears 3 5 and 7, it almost feels like the torque converter is constantly locking and unlocking giving the truck a pulsating like sensation. Like i cant just pull out from a stop and have smooth acceleration. It feels like the truck is rocking back and forth as its coming up to speed. I hate this the most about it. There is no change in rpm as this is happening so im not sure if the trannys slipping or whats going on. It just feels like very choppy acceleration.

Third problem is i have a tranny leak from somewhere. Its dripping tranny fluid from the transfer case but looks to be leaking from where the transmission bolts to the transfer case. Its a very slight leak but noticeable. I can park for the night and have a quarter size spot of fluid on the driveway in the morning.

Kinda sucks to have these issues on a basically brand new truck and i get thats what warranties for and i am going to get it looked at, i just dont have the time yet. Im just wanting to see what others might have had happen and what the fix was.

My trucks a 7/18 build date. Does anyone know of any TSB's that would apply to my build date that i could bring to the dealers attention? Thanks in advance!

Get the leak fixed under warranty and get them to install the software update for the tranny.

Seeing as you have a leaking tranny, no dipstick and possible trans shifting issues it needs to go to the shop to have the fluid level checked. I would suggest sooner rather than later.

My build date is 12/18 and no issues at all. I would quit worrying about other people's horrible experiences because that's just about all you'll get here. It's covered under warranty. Take it in and have it fixed. One piece of advice: instead of just describing the transmissions behaviour, take a service advisor with you for ride and show them. That way they can't say they could not duplicate.

i will do this thank you. I guess im just alittle worried as ive had not so great experience in the past with dealers so i have that fear of it not getting fixed right. The leak im not so worried about as thats visible and hopefully can be fixed. I just want the choppy acceleration smoothed out. i have that feeling ill be told its "normal".

Yes, many others have this happen: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/10r80...-3-4-a-477331/

Mine is worst the first few shifts however still noticeable thereafter.

Pretty disappointing on a new truck. Maybe im just paying too much attention to it but its kinda hard not to. I know mines a later build date but hoping theres an update for it when i take it in.

Does anyone else have the choppy acceleration im talking about? Like as its coming up to speed i can feel the truck rocking me back and forth in the seat until i reach about 50-60mph them it smooths out from there. Sometimes not so noticeable other times extremely noticeable like everyone in the truck can feel it. Its not happening as its shifting but like after shifts where it should be smooth acceleration is where the power delivery feels choppy. Is that a "normal" characteristic of the 10 speed as well or do is it possible i have more of an issue? Im going to bring it up to the dealer but still would like to know if others feel it to.
