Default Repaint

My daughter and I are working on a truck for her. It is getting an entire repaint/color change and I am going to do some of the work myself. Mainly the cab interior. The paint is in great shape in there because it does have all the A/B pillar covers and there is no rust. I want to change it from tan to black just so it doesn't show in the few places that are not fully covered.
I'm hoping to get a little info on prep work. Would red Scotch Brite pads be enough to get the paint to stick or should I scuff it then prime then paint?

Thanks in advance!!

Red scuff pads should be fine. A little primer never hurt anyone though. Are you using spray paint for the interior? Did you already do it, how did it come out?
