Default Rust repair and customization.

2004 Dark Shadow 4x4 STX.

I'm just starting to do some of the body work on the truck. It is weird because there is only rust on one side of the cab(driver) the other side has none. I'm going to replace the rocker panel and fix all the rust, ect. I'm going to be removing the bed and redoing it as I want to change the fuel pump, clean up the frame, repaint it all. I'm split between doing the bed sides and making a raptor out of it. The pull it yard just got a bed that fits mine and is the same color and doesn't have rust that I saw, so I'd had a spare bed to do whatever I needed while I drove it with the other one.

I have the equipment and ability to paint, spray bed liner, and weld. I'm unsure exactly what I'm building yet though. I like the way the raptor bedsides look and I can certainly install those but I really don't care for the 08+ tailgate. I'm not in love with the head and tail lights either but I can live with those. I'm half considering getting the fiberglass bed sides and just filling it in and using Jeep tail lights(As a Bronco owner, I'm a little jealous of the Jeep aftermarket scene.) as there is unlimited availability and style for them.

I'm looking at the FiberworX Raptor conversion kit but I'm not 100% on that. I might line the outside of the entire thing and do fender flares in a similar manner to how I did my Bronco, it would certainly be a lot cheaper and a lot less work.(Bronco is painted with matte, not lined on the outside aside from the topper. Interior is lined) I like the dark shadow color a lot and I think Upol makes a similar color in their raptor liner. I'd be doing black and gray theme.

The other option would be to just make something completely different like making it a 1950s bed style or something military style. I'll toss a picture of my last project up. I did a lot of welding, body work, ect, on the Bronco. I did all the paint and interior. The F150 will be infinitely less work and I'll be better at it this time and have all the tools already and my new place has all the room in the world. It was weird painting in the driveway:P

Anyone have any suggestions or a FiberworX kit sitting in their garage they want to get rid of? lol
