Had a new transmission installed at 160k miles. It had been perfect basically until my recent trip to Montana from Alabama. We pulled Ranger and a 6x12 trailer, it has pulled it ok but when we slow down or stop the transmission heats up fast and almost overheats until we get going back down the road. What would you think would be doing this? I wouldn’t think just the Ranger and trailer would be enough to keep it overheating, thought it should be able to pull more than that long distances.
