Default Spark Plug Wire Replacement?

At 126K miles I replaced the spark plugs in my 1997 F 150 V6 pick-up. Any thoughts on whether I should also replace the wires? They are the original wires.

I'm at 196K, have never touched them except for the two times I replaced plugs, that was at 95K each time. If no sysmptoms are lurking around, run them. Unless you buy replacement from Ford, you will regret it. You will create issues to save a nickel.

You guys ...... I have run Accel wires and Ford Racing wires and they work perfectly. Get off of the Motorcraft kick.
I do agree, if you are using the truck for basic transportation or like a truck, leave the original in there as long as there are no problems.

No way! Motorcraft only... These parts were made specifically for our trucks. Why spend more on parts made in a factory making parts for any vehicle. I am sure they all follow ford specs for ford vehicles, but still... Your not going to get huge HP gains from aftermarket plugs and wires, oil or filters... IMO of course...

Default To Motorcraft or Not....:

The OE Motorcraft wires in my '97 4.6L gave up the ghost completely at 124K miles. A 60 buck replacement set of high-quality aftermarket triple silicon wires works perfectly well. The 4.6L in my '94 TC has the same replacement wires in it with no issues whatsoever.

If I wanted to go all-out for quality, longevity and performance, I'd spend the better part of 200 bucks for a set of Magnecors.
