Default Spark Plug Issue

A friend of my just told me that on my particular engine there is a problem with the sparks plugs shooting out of the block and that I need to install some kind of threaded insert to solve the problem. Has anyone herd of this...

That is more of a problem with the 5.4's.

Sweet, at least that’s one thing I don’t need to worry about.

Ok...I know that this thread is old but I cant find anything else on the Forum...My wife is looking at pruchasing an Expedition and she heard that the plugs can shoot out of the block.

I have never heard of this but per this thread, it has happened in the 5.4 ONLY??

Is this true? Is there a specific generation of Expeditions?

Any thoughts?

and yes, I know that it is not a F-150 question but it is still a FORD TRUCK!

It looks like the problem might be model specific and if its happening with more and more people then the problem might be real and to get such a specific information its better to take help of a technician as they will provide you the proper input and might help you in solving it as well.

If I'm not mistaken, the 4.6 had the "plug shooting out" problem. The 5.4 had the "plug breaking" problem.

The 4.6 2v and 5.4 2v both had issues shooting plugs out. The 3v has the issues with breaking plugs due to the large electrode sleeve.
