Default looking for lower gears

I have a 97 f150 4x4 base version. I like the truck and am usually not into modifying my vehicles. (Did that enough when I was a teenager)
My problem is that it doesn't have the power I need. Even empty running down the interstate I sometimes have to run floored.
I checked the gears and they are 18's (3.08 non-LS).
I would like to put in H9 or B6 (3.55 or 3.73 LS)
Anyone know wher I can find a set of differentials??

Would it be worth it??

Thanks

Ebay or summit racing. Do you know how to do gears yourself? Its not something to do for the first time by yourself.

You seem to be in a confused state or rather have confused me, as you want to get most out of your vehicle without upgrading it, and that seems pretty tough.

It could Definitely be worth it! Spinning 2 tires is always better than spinning 1! Depending on who you know or what you can find. I had a 98 f150 with 3.55gearing and LS factory. Then upgraded after lift and tires to a 4.56 gear with an Auburn Pro series LS. Since the truck was wrecked, I have since put my completely rebuilt axle for 800$ on Craigslist and haven't had any serious takers yet, so I guess it's how bad do you need new gears? To have it regeared without big tires or anything will give you some power but if I was you, I'd go with a tuner. :-). Happy driving.

If you are planning on leaving it stock i would go with the 3.73's.. look around salvage yards or find a wrecked truck with the gears you want, i dont know about where you are from but where im from i could get a whole front and rearend and put them in myself cheaper than buying gears and then having them installed.
