If the part number is different would that not indicate its a different cam? Not the same cam as you stated in a previous post? Thats all I was saying. I am not saying the Mustang got a 580 lift cam and the truck got a 400 lift cam. I am just saying they are different for different applications. Yes the basic block and heads are the same. The cam profile is different. Thats part of how the Mustang makes more power than the truck. I mean they were rated at 260 hp and the truck was only 220 hp.

they dont make different power because of the internals, its on the exhaust and tuning side...also the intake manifold. If you take the cams from a PI mustang and from a PI truck, they will be the same.

the only cam differenes are noted in build procedure, press fit at windsor, bolt on at romeo.

look at it this way, when the heads are assembled, there isnt a special place just for mustangs, that stopped when the mod motors were used in a widespread fashion.

No there isn't a special place for the Mustang heads, but its not hard to have different cams on the assembly line. they might have call for 500 mustang heads one day and 500 F150 heads the next. I still fall back on if they are different part numbers then the cams are different. The heads are the same part number.

the cam profiles are the same. I have measured three different cam profiles from three different MY PI cams and they were identical.

cam info is at the bottom. Remember though, FoMoCo does revise PN's for the same part.
