My dad made It clear that the original motor was a carbed motor. The guy bought a fuel InJected motor and put that In the vehicle. He than took his old carbs and manifold and put those on the FI motor. Basically with that said, the fuel InJected motor would have to be atleast a 87 If Im correct and the carbs and manifold were off the original motor. With that Information can we determine the real specs of this vehicle considering It was a FI but has the old carbs and manifold on, what would the engine be considered now a FI or a carb engine.

It would be carbed. Looks like it has the TFI ignition system on it to. Also looks like some of the vacuum lines aren't hooked up either. IIRC the only difference in the carbed and FI 4.9 was the head, intake and exhaust. Also the block on the FI motors did not have have a place to bolt on a mechanical fuel pump so if it has one it is probably a carbed motor.

At this point I have to ask what you are hoping to accomplish? If you don't know the difference in a mechanical or electric fuel pump you need to get yourself a manual and do some reading.

I'm not trying to be sarcastic but it's starting to sound like maybe you have little to no experience when it comes to cars/trucks, but that's not a bad thing. But I still have no idea what it is your really wanting to know. And it can get really hard to explain somethings if you do not know what I'm talking about and I can't show you.

Sounds to me like you recently acquired this vehicle and want to learn what you need to know to keep the vehicle running since your knowledge on this truck is limited so you are asking advice.

This right?

Anyway I believe you have found out what engine is in your truck so if you go to an auto parts store and tell them they can find the proper plugs oil and air filter for you. They also have catalogs in the isles you can reference engine size and vehicle by brand and year to look the part numbers up your self. You can also google the info you do know to find out more on your truck like where to look on the engine block for its serial number and all kinds of stuff. Keep researching and you can find out most anything on a wikipedia or something.

TFI ignition is what Ford used before they went to fuel injection. The little gray module mounted on the side of your distributor is the ignition module where the DuraSpark 2 (DSII) would be a gray box mounted on the left inner fender and the distributor would have a vacuum advance mounted on it with a vacuum hose coming off it. With the TFI it should also have a feedback, or electrically controlled, carb. As for fuel pumps, follow the fuel line from the carb down and if there is a mechanical pump it will be mounted on the side of the block toward the front on the left side. If it does not have a pump there it is an electric pump either in the tank or somewhere inline.
