I'm really hoping they decide to offer this ecoboost engine in the regular cab trucks. I'm so sad that without 4x4 I'm stuck with the base 4.6 2-valve for the '09s. Hopefully with the '10s and up I they will have the option of this engine for us that like a regular cab. Generally I think this is a great engine for anybody that uses their truck for general duty (driving to work, hauling stuff in the bed, towing a small to medium trailer). If you're a serious tower I'm willing to bet you'll stick with the 5.4 or the diesel.

I doubt they will offer the 3.5 turbo in the 2WD regular cab trucks. I've read that the engine will add $2000 bucks to the cost of the vehicle and MOST people/companies that buy 2WD reg cab trucks buy them because of the price.

Is this the same motor going in the new SHO? I was under the impression it was an Ecoboost.

The 3.5 Ecoboost will go in the SHO as well as some Lincolns. Check in last months Motortrend. For the SHO I believe the reported horsepower is 355 with 355 ft*lb

it looks like the usual good testing program however I try to avoid first year engineering. There is always something that was not considered, or the changed product gets used in different ways and you have problems.

I would like to see data on the turbo and their longevity.

Having lived the past 2 years with 40 turbo cars in our local car club, they have developed a set of interesting problems that were never considered and it has proven very interesting to figure out how to solve them.

I am very interested in this motor, I think Ford is way ahead of every truck maker out there. This is a very ingenius idea by the Ford enginers my only question is why did it take this long we all know the benifits you get with turbos.. Now just put the direct injection and turbos on the 5.0 wooo hooo..
