Default Broken spark plug

Anyone ever broken a plug off in the head of a 5.0? Just bought a 2014 Monday with 160k on it. Was idling a little rough so I got plugs and new boots for it to change them. With the miles on it wasn't sure if they'd ever been changed. First one I tried snapped off just below the hex. Got all the porcelain out but the rest is still in there. Tried a spiral extractor but no good yet. I've got some BreakAway soaking on it right now. Going to get some straight extractors and try those.

I did end up getting it out. Let penetrating oil soak on it for a few hours and then took it for a drive with the plug out to warm it up a bit. Sounded and ran like crap of course, but got home and put the extractor back in and it popped loose. I put penetrating oil in the rest of the tubes. Going to drive it for a few days and try the rest.

I thought I read somewhere that these engines should be heated up a little to help with plug removal. I'm not sure if it was this gen I was reading about. Glad you got the plug out.

Yes, it was newer guidance, but only like a minute or two from a cold engine.
