Yes or No...
You guys know about those cheap Maaco paint jobs....Probably a cheap enamel paint with minimal prep work. Anyway, I was thinking about getting my 93 painted. The body is fairly straight with only a few dents on the bad which I can fix before painting. The hood is currently from another truck and it is a different color. Should I just do the paint job? It couldn't look worse right? I want to say they charge like $300, I think?
It is hard to get an even coat with spray paint, it's a lot easier to use a spray gun. Unless you have one, I would do all the prep work yourself so you know atleast that is done right, then have them spray it.
It's a Canadian thing eh!

I was considering one of those paint jobs too, and I've seen what they look like afterwards. Yes prep work is almost bare minimum as in they just lightly scuff the body, spray a couple thin coats of primer and then the color with some clear coat.
Thats why I was thinking of just doing the prep myself and have them paint it.

To the quality I want it at, I'm looking at almost 20-25 hours of repair and prep. That involves repairing my quarter panels, either replace or repair my front fenders, replace tailgate, fix the rot on the underside of the doors, then all the sanding and minor dent repair I will have to do. So it will involve a couple days of downtime which I can't do easily either.
