Default wrong tranny kit?

i bought a shifter repair kit for my truck however the 2 rubber cirlces on the left and the washer i did not find in my truck and there is supposed to be two flat wavy wahsers

Yeah, everything looks familiar except the washer. It looks like a washer you get at the hardware store. I can only assume that the wavy washer allows the vertical "give" of the shifter and the middle washer would give it the extra "stability". But overall it makes it a snug fit once the boot is on. BUT, on the otherhand you may not be out of luck, just a different assembly. This is how I would assemble with what you have and check the feel of the shifter prior to total reassembly of the big boot and rubber moulding to cover the hole, etc.

First place the washer in the neck, i.e. on the bottom.
Second, one of the rubber bushings with the grove facing up. Remember that you will have to tap the pins outward. Also rmemeber that the pins in the kit are only if your pins are missing, otherwise you don't need them.
Fourth, tap the pins back inward.
Fifth, place the shifter shaft in. Do NOT put in gear (it should be in neutral right now, major headach if not!!!!)
Sixth, place the other rubber bushing with the groove DOWN, i.e. over the pin.
Seventh, check the play in the shifter for up and down movemement, (there shouldn't be any or very little. Also check to see how much room is left from the top of the bushing to the top of the neck.
Eighth, I would place the black bushing or whatever it is on top of the (blue) bushing. Again, if the black boot is flexible to cover the "play" without damage to the cover.
Ninth, I would then place the cover on top and screw it down.

Finally, I would replace the shifter handle and shift through the gears to make sure it is not too stiff. IF it is, remove the black bushing and recover.

As I mentioned, my set didn't come with the pins or the cover (extra cost). And mine came with the wavy washer and the middle washer was more like a shim. But I think that this will work for you. Let us know. Worse case, is you can go to a Ford parts store and order the washers by them selves. The part numbers are on the attachment or I can get them for you.

They change the design of stuff all the time, so it's possible that's all that you need now. Str8dogg's description sounds good, that's how I would install it. You didn't find the bushings because they deteriorate to nothing.

So there you go. Most after market parts change in design but usually to accomplish the same as the OEM. So you should be good to go and not have a "sloppy" shifter.
