Windsheild wipers work on one speed?

Default Windsheild wipers work on one speed?

i have a 1987 ford f150 with a 302 When i turn my wipers on it only works on one speed and when you turn them off they stop where they were they dont go back to the starting position now is this the motor or is this something else i read about a timer a interval wiper switch and even a govener can someone please help me?

It's the interval governor. There's a thread about it somewhere. Remove it, open it up and inspect the components. The solder joints get weak and crack, but you can resolder them and it should work fine again. You shouldn't have to buy a new one. Just follow the wires to the switch down and you will find a little black box, that's the governor.

I could not find the govener i found this plug were the govener should be with a test plug in it. it is a 8 plug pin is this where the govener should be im not sure i read the artical already i just need to know if someone took the govener out and put this test socket in its place

and if you take that test plug out the fuel gauge goes bonkers so can anyone help me on this?

How about a picture of what's there? The box should be bolted to the metal dash bracket in a very awkward place near the parking brake pedal.

on what side of the wiper switch if you were to be sitting in the car the left side toward the wall of the car and the light switch or the other side where the stearing colum is even so there shouldnt be a plug with wires jumping itself and reads test plug i will try to see what you are talking about.

Follow the wires from the wiper switch down to the bottom of the dash near the parking brake bracket. The module is down there.

ok figured it out turns out it wasn,t the govener infact it was fine i did see no cracks when i took it out but i realized there was a wire cut from a conecter so that was my problem thanks for the help.
