If you can hear the motor and the window does not move it is more than likely that the regulator has stripped and will need to be replaced or repaired. Other on the site are more familiar with the process and will chime in.

I've had this problem before. More than likley it needs a new window motor. Not too hard to fix but can be a pain to drill all the rivets out. Let me know if you need some instruction in replacing it or if you can handle it on your own.

You might be able to fix the motor, almost on all my window motors the magnets come loose, I just find the old epoxy marks, remove the magnets, clean old epoxy off, re-epoxy the magnets, grease the gears and almost like new.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but did it end up being the regulator or the motor?

My 88 is having the same problem, I think the teeth on the motor are wore down, it spins but the regulator doesn't move.
I guess I'll have to take them out this week and check it out.
I hate drilling out rivets.

mine runs it just doesnt move. The motor is either weak or the gears are bad.
