Default will this work?

If I put my 5 speed in out of my 89' into my 96' that originally had a e40d?
Will my trucks computer be fine with it? Or will it just throw codes like crazy?

i think it will be fine unless the eod4 has wires going to the ecu under the hood the trans brain and engine brain is separate.

The transmission has one harness that plugs into the harness, the only problem I had when I took the transmission out is it wouldn't start unless I jumped it at the starter. Also my speedo wouldn't work as the 89 is cable driven. I'm gunna give this a try this weekend if it works that awesome if not ill throw the 89 back together and drive it work again monday

You would also need the pedal assembly from a 92-96 truck.

You could have made the speedometer work.
