Default Wierd shift points?

My aode (i think) trans code e. shifts 1-2 at 10-12 mph regardless of rpm 2-3 around 20 3-4 at 30 is this how it's supposed to be? It drives like a dog. I've started manually shifting it and it does good now shifting at 2500 - 3000 that's around 25 35 50. Also sometimes I'll back out the driveway and it will hesitate going into gear. Goes into reverse fine but hesitates to go into any forward gear. Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like a TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) issue. What year and engine?

Is your check engine on?
