Default wierd idle at start

I just got my truck back yesterday from the shop where the replaced the Tp sensor. Then last night i was trying out my new code reader and the truck started surging. the rpms would drop and almost stall and then go back up to normal. i didnt get any codes i was just checking and i decided to wait so i dont make it worse. i then disconected the battery for like five mins to reset the computer and that fixed it. well today i didnt notice it until like 30mins ago wen i started the truck it did the same thing but i only did it for like ten seconds. im wondering if me using the reader could have messed something up or is something else going wrong.

my truck is a 94 f150 with a 5.0

thanks for your time,

Ben

i know with a snap-on scanner thats perfectly normal, when it reads it send the computer into a self check mode and those are exactly the things it will do.

Using the code reader didn't do anything to the truck. Even when checking codes on mine the idle stays steady. Sounds like a problem with the IAC. When my IAC acts up I shut the truck off and back on real quick without it stalling and it resets the IAC.
