Peggin 6k ain't know way but it set there for 10miles I tried letting off and it would Drop to 5 but when I touched the gas it would peg 6 again. Came to a red light. When I pulled off from the red light got back up to 70 was Sittin on 3k.

There was no way I was turning that high sounded normal. Prolly around 2-2.5k

Sounds like the transmission slipping...might try changing the fluid and filter and adding some Lucas oil stabilizer and see if it helps.

You think the tranny slipping could do that? Didn't sound any different, like it was runnin a higher rpm.. I need to change the tranny fluid and filter anyways.

If it didn't sound any different then it's probably a tach issue.
