Default what year & engine size

I am new to the forum. I have a 2000 f150 with the small v8 engine. I love the truck but am frustrated with the cost of upkeep. I want an older truck that has all the good stuff but not all the expensive stuff. I want:

Electric windows
A/C
V8
electronic ignition
ONE DISTRIBUTOR
ONE COIL
AN ENGINE I CAN WORK ON WITH NORMAL TOOLS

I hate the coil-on-plug system. My truck is old enough to need new coils and at $85 a pop its not worth it. Why would anyone change from one coil and distributor? I definitely want to go retro on the engine's electronic ignition. So what year f150 has all that? Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Lawrence

Optimal to me would be a '95 5.0 automatic as it has the MAF fuel injection, is OBDI and the a/c system was the first year of 134A so it will work great with commonly available refrigerant.

5.0? Why would he want too small of an engine. He'd get more power and mileage from a 5.8. 5.0's too undrepowered and likes higher RPM's.

The coil on plug systems are more efficient, direct power goes to the plug, less moving parts, but yes its more expensive upkeep than the older systems, and 302s are more common than the 351w, but the 302 does get a little better mileage than the 351w. If its not your daily driver get the 351. And Sean might answer this, but the 351w might not have mass air so the 302 mass air truck would be better.

The 5.8 is not mass air.
