Default What The Hell??

So my truck acted werd today for the first time... i was pulling into walmart and it started acting like i was running out of gas.. so i pulled to the gas station and put $30 in and then went back to walmart.. well when i started to park it started doing it again.. so i just let it idle in park to see if it improved but it didnt.. it acted like it was about to die so i gassed it and it acted fine again... cut the truck off went into walmart got what i came for and went back out and started the truck.. it started fine ran fine untill i got to the red light then it acted stupid again but didnt die... anyway i got on the highway and it ran fine the whole trip well after i was on the highway a good while i looked down at my temp gauge at it was just on the little white line of the normal section.. the whole trip home it never really got past that.. now most the time my emp sits right at the N in Normal... I dont know if the two are related but its got me confused as hell... the truck hasnt had any running issues since i got it (aside from bad MPG) any ideas??

Yeah but it only acted stupid when i was hardly on the gas... like the parking lot or the stop light... it only messed up at low rpms.. after it started running it was fine... so if it was the engine overheating and messing up dont you think i would have did it on the hghway and not when it was parked...

Now that i think about it it had almost an hour to cool while i was in walmart then when i came out to the stop light it did it again.. surely the motor couldnt overheat in that little time...

Check the idle air bypass valve its on the throttle body
its job is to control the idle when ever your foot is off the gas.

Pull it clean it. who knows might need a new one.

When your at a stop your engine fan runs slower. So if your thermostate went out it'll run fine in higher RPMs. But when your at idle you don't get as much pull through the radiotor. So it won't cool the engine as well causing it to run funny. This seems to make the most sense since it only happens at a stop after its been running for a while. Try replacing the thermostate.
