Default What engine

My engine gave up the ghost. The description of my truck is in my profile. What do you recommend as a replacement. Used, rebuilt. Who do you recommend? 302 or 351?

Did you figure out what locked up your old engine?

You know how your old 302 performed. If you wasn't satisfied with the power you may want to consider going with a 351, but I agree going with a 302 would be simpler.

I'd be shopping for a Jasper reman 5.0L, or a running truck.

I went through this a few years ago. Going back with a 302 was the fastest and the easiest but I still wish i had gone with a 351.
I have the same fuel mileage as a larger engine now with none of the power to show for it.

Depends on how you use the truck and what you want to get out of it.

I visited my local junk yard yesterday and they did not have any trucks of my generation. What year and models should I be looking for? They did have a 98 explorer that had gt40p heads. They were pretty nasty though. I found a 95 f150 with a 302 on LKQ but I cannot get anyone to answer the phone to provide info.
