Default What does this connect to?

The truck woes continue.

Found this guy loose hiding behind that large grouping of wire connections. Here's a couple of pictures. It's a 4.9L 1990 F150. You're looking at the rear of the engine on the driver's side. The spark plug wires and air intake hoses have been removed. I've looked around quite a bit trying to find it a home.

Anybody know what this connects to?

It was pretty dirty, so it may have been hanging loose for a while.

Thanks in advance

Has the appearance of a connector for a temperature sensor, like Engine Coolant Temp., Inlet Air Temp., or the like. Does it have only 2 pins? That is, 2 wires involved?

Sorry I can't be more specific. imp

Yeah two pins. They are thin and flat, not round. Behind the plastic wire shroud, I can see that one wire is red and one is black.

Should be the plug to one of the vacuum solenoids mounted on the aft portion of the valve cover. You should find three solenoids there. One for EGR and two that supply vacuum to the smog pump air circuit control valves.

Some trucks only have two solenoids, the two smog are combined into one.
