it had zip ties pulling the end together but I'm scared to pull them apart until I have the DFR to put in,I think I'm probably just going to fork over the $$ for a new one, I been reading to many horror stories here about bad ones..This really scares me !! Because it does run very well with the mess that it has now..It is a project truck but this isn't fun for me,I like to sand and paint things. This dual tank thing always confuses me,this is the 3rd Ford i had and all were the 87-96 with tank issues.

Put a cheap used DFR on, as long as it doesn't leak it will be fine. Other than it leaking the worst that can happen is it will be stuck and only one tank will work.

I hated to do it but I bought a new DFR and since the PO jammed a metal tube in the fuel lines to by bypass the old DFR it leaks terrible,it only leaks at the front of the DFR where it goes to the frame rail pump.Name: bypass%201_zpspfwwycc4.jpg

Sean I was hoping you would answer this one. What would a repair kit consist of? It's only about a 12" span, what would be wrong with a nice piece of fuel line and a couple clamps ?

Fuel injection is high pressure and that isn't suitable for high pressure, unless you buy high pressure fuel hose and high pressure fuel hose clamps. Now, that is on the lower pressure side but the repair kit is the proper way to fix it and it isn't expensive.
