Default What is this..?

Hey guys,

Can anybody tell me what this is? It just doesnt look right, something should be hooked up to it, correct? There is nothing on the bottom end either..Im not good at editing photos but its the tube in the center of the picture with nothing hooked up to it..

That would be one of the coolant lines for the throttle body. It should tie into the tee where the darker black heater hose is. The bottom side of the throttle body should have another coolant port that loops around into the multi-port connector on top of the thermostat housing.

Not sure why it's been disconnected, unless it was leaking. First blush is someone just tied heater hose between the supply and return feeds for the throttle body. There's another thread floating around somewhere here on the forum as to the purpose and presumed necessity of running coolant to the throttle body.

So after doing some reading, ive read that this isnt necessary operating in a warm weather climate?

Something I've wondered about this. Your coolant flows through there to heat up the air going into your intake. And yet people install cold air intakes to draw in cooler air to go across the intake heater to be warmed up before being injested.

its there to keep the throttle body from icing in colder climates....thats all..
